Jurassic League

This is the first scene from the “Jurassic League” animated series I am creating in Adobe Flash. The series is a prehistoric version of the Justice League and will have characters such as Superdino, Wondersaurus, and Pteroman (Batman). The whole family is involved in the animated series – Zander and Vincent come up with the ideas for the episodes and everyone lends their voice talents to the clips. The first episode is The Volcano and it’s the story of Anyasaurus getting into a bit of trouble and being saved by Superdino. I have about 6-7 more scenes to go before Episode 1 is done. To view the full-size animation, go to the Jurassic League site.

Eye Painting

Nathalie’s latest oil painting is a woman’s image reflecting in the pupil of an eye. The lashes and tears are made from copper wire. More information on Nathalie’s artwork can be found at Nathalie’s Workshop.

The Flash is now animated! I added a few effects: zoom in and out, lip sync, and an interactive button (press to play). The background is temporary – Zander drew a cityscape for me, so I will be replicating it with Adobe Illustrator over the next few weeks and will update the animation then. I’m still working on the arms, legs, and head movements, too.

The Flash

This is my first character drawing using Adobe Flash. I chose the DC character “The Flash” because of his simple style and because I could title the post “The Flash in Flash.” The next step is attempting to do some simple character animation (walking and talking).

Nature Hike

During Spring Break, we went on a short nature hike in the forest preserve next to our house (see map). It was a sunny 81 degrees on April 1st, so we decided to enjoy the day outside. The whole family walked to the model airplane field and watched a couple of planes take off, fly around, and land. Nathalie drove Anya home while Zander, Vincent, and I continued the hike through the woods and open fields.

We saw several birds (from a distance) and hiked over a bridge before waking home for lunch. Can’t wait for hike #2!
