This is version 2 of a Man of Steel 2 logo teaser trailer fashioned after the San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Superman / Batman movie reveal. Now that Wonder Woman has been confirmed for the movie, I thought it would be nice to include her logo as well. I also tweaked the camera and light settings and added some depth of field effects.
The video was made using Adobe After Effects and the Element 3D and Optical Flares plug-ins from Video Copilot as well as Red Giant’s Trapcode Shine plug-in.

After making the letter “J” in the style of Superman / Man of Steel a while back, I thought it would be fun to make the whole alphabet as a Kryptonian glyph. Once I created each letter in a unique style, I made three versions of each letter – a set with the official logo style, a set with the color suit texture, and a set with the black and white suit texture. The logos are also available on Pinterest.
The boys were playing with their Lego sets yesterday, so I thought I’d join them. I also just saw that Lego has a DC Universe Superheros site that allows fans to post photos of the Man of Steel mini figure in action, so I decided to join in on the fun.
The first scene I created mimics the promotional image of Superman in Smallville in front of the building with the American flag. The boys and I visited Plano, IL last year (the town that doubled as Smallville in the movie) and I took the photo that is shown behind the Man of Steel mini figure. I had to crop it a bit to hide the dumpster that was there instead of the 7-11 sign from the movie.
The next scene is from the movie trailer and near the end of the movie. Kal-El is in Metropolis Central Station and is very upset (for those who have seen the movie, you should know why). Again, the photo behind the mini figure was taken by me during the filming at Chicago Union Station back in 2011. Notice the clock is set to the same time in both photos.
The last scene was also in one of the movie trailers and depicts a dream sequence where Superman is being engulfed in a pile of human skulls. Oddly enough, the boys had more than enough Lego skulls to replicate the scene. I had to color correct the mini figures suit to make it black and gray and I added some dust elements as well.
These Justice League logos are inspired by the “Man of Steel” movie. The Superman (Man of Steel) logo is my best attempt at replicating the movie’s poster featuring the stylized logo. The Batman (Caped Crusader) logo has three separate bat images on different depth layers. I intentionally did not use the Dark Knight logo for this one. The Wonder Woman (Amazon Princess) logo is a combination of the classic design with the New 52 style. The Flash (Scarlet Speedster) logo includes glowing elements and speed lines. The Green Lantern (Emerald Guardian) logo also includes several glowing inner layers. The Hawkman (Winged Warrior) logo has yellow straps connecting the outer ring to represent his chest emblem. The Aquaman (King of Atlantis) logo has a liquid texture. The Martian Manhunter logo has red wrap rings surrounding a dead planet.
